Dua Lipa is an English artist and singer. She was born on August 22 1995 within London United Kingdom. In 2014, following a career as a model and actress she was signed to Warner Bros Records. She launched her self-titled debut album in 2017. The album climbed up to the third place on the U.K. Chart for Albums. There were eight songs released and included Be the Only I.D.G.A.F. as well as New Rules (UK number one). It also rose at the number 6 spot on the charts in the United States. Lipa has been awarded the Brit Awards for British Female solo artist and British breakthrough act in 2018. The album was certified platinum worldwide. Her parents are Kosovo Albanians Anesa Laxha and Dukagjin Lipa. She has Bosnian ancestry through her grandmother. You can also trace Lipa's ancestry through Peja from Kosovo. Lipa's grandparents were both historians. She has a brother Gjin Lipa as well as a sister Rina. Lipa was influenced musically by her father, who is the principal guitarist and singer for the Kosovan band Oda.
